Plasma jets interaction with surfaces

Non thermal plasma jet are unique sources of reactive species at atmsopehric pressure. Filamentary plasmas are always very interesting to produce high density of reactive species at low gas temeprature as illustrated by the famous success of ozonizer for more than 100 years now. However sensitive materials require a high degree of reproducibility which is a unique property of atmospheric pressure plasma jet (APPJ). In addition to their interest in fundamental research, these APPJs therefore have great potential for many applications already under study or yet to be imagined... A non-exhaustive list of applications we are exploring include biomedical applications, archaeological artifact cleaning, and polymer processing.
